John is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, currently serving as Group Executive Director for one of Kenya’s leading insurance brokerage firms with a regional presence across East Africa. He also represents several top-ten global insurance brokers in the region. An alumnus of the University of Nairobi with a degree in Economics, John holds four professional diplomas in insurance—two local and two international—culminating in the prestigious Fellowship designation. In addition, he has earned diplomas in Risk Management, Applied Psychology (Consumer Behaviour), and Organic Agriculture. John serves as Chairman of the National Governing Council (NGC) of Bible Life Fellowship Kenya (BLFK) and sits on several boards of both commercial and faith-based organisations, many of which he supports on a pro bono basis. His leadership and community service earned him an honorary Doctor of Business Administration in Leadership and Innovation in 2024. For over 25 years, John has been an active member of Karura Community Chapel, where he has served in various leadership roles including Church Secretary, Deacon, Trustee, and Chairman of the Elders’ Court. He is passionate about discipleship, community development, and mentoring leaders across generations. John is a committed family man, married to Mary for over 30 years, and together they have raised two sons, Kevin and Martin. They live in Ruaka, Kenya. A lover of books and ideas, John combines his faith, leadership experience, and personal journey in his debut book, Shepherding the Sunset Years for Clergy—a thoughtful guide on preparing for a purposeful retirement in ministry.
